Beef Pot Roast

Super yummy roast from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. This is a staple in our family.
Ingredients:
2-3 lb chuck roast
2 tbsp cooking oil
3.4 cup water
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 beef bullion cube
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp salt
4 potatoes, peeled and cut up
4-5 carrots, peeled and cut up
1 large onion
Directions:
  1. brown roast in large skillet on both sides. place is large roasting dish with a lid. 
  2. In a small bowl combine (water, sauce, cube, basil, salt) Pour over roast.
  3. Place in oven covered for 1 hour at 325 degrees.
  4. Cut up veggies. Place in roasting dish and cook for another 45 minutes until tender.
